March 5, 2024 - The Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) extends its heartfelt appreciation to the entire Ijaw nation and generous donors for their unwavering support during the recently held inauguration ceremony of its National Executive Council.

The event, which took place amidst a backdrop of unity and enthusiasm, marked a significant milestone in the journey of the IPF towards advancing the interests of the Ijaw people through literary endeavors and journalistic excellence.

With the overwhelming turnout and overwhelming show of solidarity, the IPF wishes to convey its sincerest gratitude to all individuals, organizations, and stakeholders who contributed their time, resources, and goodwill to ensure the success of the inauguration ceremony.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
