Edo Riverine Communities Celebrate Dennis Otuaro's Appointment as Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme


The riverine communities of Edo State are celebrating the appointment of Dr Dennis Otuaro as the new Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). The Coalition of Riverine Communities has wholeheartedly endorsed Chief Otuaro for the prestigious role, praising his deep experience and commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

In a press statement,  the Coalition expressed confidence that under Chief Otuaro's leadership, the era of neglect and marginalization felt by riverine communities will come to an end. As a egg head and intellectual per excellence, who fought alongside ex-agitators, Dr Otuaro intimately understands the challenges they face and will ensure their needs are prioritized. 

The Coalition acknowledged that for too long, appointments and opportunities have passed Edo riverine people by. However, they believe Dr Otuaro's longstanding relationships and respect within the communities will help reverse this trend. His appointment is seen as a victory for accurate representation of the Niger Delta's interests.

Speaking the Coalition Spokesperson Comrade Ezekiel Daniel Ezekiel, praised His Excellency , president Bola Tinubu , commander the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, for recognizing Dr Otuaro's merit despite attempts to discredit him by group of charlatans parading themselves as ex-militants leaders . "This is a man with immense experience in development and security matters. We are grateful the appointment was based on his superb track record and not hostility."

The group  Secretary, Hon. Samuel Pune Uroupa called the choice of Otuaro "inspired." He said: "No one understands the struggles on the ground better than our brother Otuaro. Under his leadership, amnesty programs will achieve their true potential and positively impact communities."   

The Coalition also thanked freedom fighter and Ijaw Nation leader, High Chief Government Ekemupolo a k.a Tompolo for playing a KEY  in endorsing  Otuaro, seeing him as the best candidate to restore PAP's original vision as set by late President Yar'Adua. With his PhD in development and experience in sectors like infrastructure, Dr Otuaro is poised to revitalize the program.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
