MAY 29: NDF TO NIGERIANS BE UNITED, SAYS TINUBU IS A SYMBOL OF UNITY


Ahead of the May 29, 2023 swearing-in of the president-elect, Alj. Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu, a group under the aegis of  "Niger Delta Force (NDF)" has. Called on all Nigerians to be more united, added that the emergence of  Alj. Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu is a testament that Nigerians needed him in a time like this when the country needed total restructuring.

The National Coordinator of Niger Delta Force, Comrade Ufuoma Eroghe a.k.a Ogbegbe I of the Niger Delta region made the call at Ughelli the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North local government area of Delta State while addressing selected journalists in the state.

Eroghe, who is filled with excitement after the enlarged meeting of the group held at Oil City Motel, Ughelli disclosed the readiness of the NDF to partner Federal Government to bring issues of unrest bedeviled the oil-bearing region of the Niger Delta to a thing of past just as he disclosed that the group has changed the name 'JAGABA' to 'JAGANISE' for the unity and oneness of the country.

According to him, "The emergence of the President-elect, Alj. Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu a.k.a Jagaban is a good omen to the country's nascent democracy in the recent time".

Eroghe stated that the reign of Tinubu will bring in a true federalism system of government and the needed unity Nigerians are yearning for in days ahead.

While giving reasons for the modification of the name from JAGABAN to JAGANISE he said, the decision of the NDF to change the name from "JAGABAN to JAGANISE" was precipitated by the general overwhelming acceptance of the president-elect in the last presidential poll in the country.

"Tinubu won the country's presidential election with the votes of the majority of Nigerians who came out en mass to cast their vote for him.

" We are calling on all Nigerians most especially the political class to give the President-elect the needed support for the smooth handover inauguration come on May 29, 2023".

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
