Gbagi Felicitates With Edwin Clark On His 96th Birthday

Governorship candidate under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has extolled the virtues of Nigeria’s former Information Minister, Chief Edwin Clark on the occasion of his 96th birthday anniversary.

The Chief Press Secretary, Kenneth Orusi, in a statement, on Friday May 26th 2023, said the former minister of state for education, paid tribute to Chief Clark, who served as Information Minister during the regime of General Yakubu Gowon.

The largest private investor in the State noted that “even if you don’t agree with the elder statesman sometimes, you must acknowledge his patriotism and commitment to peace.

“Peace building is one of the greatest contributions we should expect of our elders, and I am proud that Chief Edwin Clark has played this role remarkably during trying times in our State and country", he asserted.

Gbagi, who is very close to Clark, described the nonagenarian and foremost Ijaw leader, as a man of strong convictions who does not hesitate to speak his mind on national issues.

The renowned Criminologist, who further described Chief Clark as a father-figure, said he (Clark) expresses his mind without malice, one of the outstanding virtues of a statesman that he is.

While felicitating with him on this joyous occasion, Gbagi said "accept my best wishes, deepest goodwill of my family and congratulations from the Social Democratic Party, in the State.

"You have served your state and country with distinction and untainted record. You should be proud of this legacy. 

"Your State, Delta and the country will always look up to you to tap from your fountain of wisdom", Gbagi, added.
