Deltans have rejected APC, PDP Governorship candidates... Gbagi

The parade of certificate forgers, ex-convicts and folks of similar character as election candidates, and eventually as legislators and governors was one of the most poignant facts that came to fore at an interview penultimate Sunday in Warri, Delta State.

Speaking during a World Press Conference, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON, revealed that two gubernatorial candidates in the March 11th 2023 election, are those that have served jail terms.

He said the candidates are known to be of dubious reputations in the past for various crimes and offences, ranging from stealing, murder, forgery, 419ners among other deadly activities.

According to him, “Because they are candidates as they call themselves, the fact remains that Deltans have suffered and can see through them.

“Deltans are looking for people or persons or that individual that is not coming to say let me access into government pulse for me to do things but for instance, what you have done before. The people are a lot more sensible than yesterday.

“I am extremely pleased with the two major people who are in the contest with me. You have APC one hand, the other one is PDP, Deltans have rejected them, with greatest respect. Deltans will have nothing to do with them”, he stressed.

He disclosed that one of the candidates, was jailed for manslaught, after he allegedly killed his creditor who came for her money.

He was jailed between 2000 and 2004 and was discharge from the prison 17/3/2005.

Also, the other governorship candidate was suspended over a case of alleged forgery and fraud.

Gbagi revealed that the candidate who committed the offence in 1995, was found guilty and suspended for two years.

He was also placed on probation and mandated to take a multistate professional responsibility examination before being admitted back.

After being arrested, a four-count amended charge was filed against him with case number BA111331.

He called on Deltans, market women, students and the electorate to take their destinies into their hands by voting for the Social Democratic Party, a party known for credibility and track records of development.

Olu Of Warri Defends Tradition, Speaks on Christianity  The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ã’gíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III, has dispelled the insinuation that there is a conflict between the traditional thrones and Christendom. The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. He, however, noted that the two institutions can play complementary role that will contribute to the growth and development of the country. The Olu, who said he was elated by the Soun’s visit, said the new Ogbomoso monarch’s choice of Warri kingdom as his first place of visit was divinely directed, just as his choice for the throne was divinely ordained.
