2023: Christians Should Not Allow Ex-convict Govern Delta, Clergy Vouch for Gbagi

By Ezekiel Kagbala

The Spiritual Director and Founder of Divine Healing Ministry, Bishop Dr. Thomas Ofudje  has warned Christians in Delta State against
electing an ex-convict as Governor, 2023.

The religious leader gave the warning while addressing group of Christians, youths, women and community leaders who held a  special prayer program to affirm their acceptance and support of the Social Democratic Party, SDP  Governorship Candidate, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON, FNIM in Otokutu, Ughelli South Local government area, Delta state.

The current administration also came under severe condemnation from Bishop Thomas Ofudje over financial recklessness and borrowing, urging Christians in the State to end bad government with their votes.

The clergyman cried out loud, lamenting that Delta State has been plunged into humongous loans of billion of naira when the State is unarguably, the last state in Nigeria that should be going for any loan. He vehemently urged Deltans to shun those running a government to share the money and hang the debt on the necks of the people.

He further charged Christian bodies in the State to stand firmly with  Kenneth Gbagi, Stating that he (Gbagi) is the man sent by God to liberate the State.

The clergymen spoke with very strong feelings stating that ex-convicts must not govern the State in 2023 and that those who aided contentious borrowing by the state government know themselves.

Though the bishop did not mention names, however, his descriptions were vivid when he said; "We Know Ourselves, Ex-convict should not be allowed to become governor in 2023.

The Bishop further noted that Deltans are tired of 'Borrow Borrow Government. Christians and community youths who gathered at the church premises echoed that; "We are tired of 'Borrow Borrow' government, we need a production government" they said.

In his brief sermon, he stated that; "It is time for Delta Christians to change the bad government, and Any government that lives on borrowing is bad.

"The arc of God must be taken into Delta State government House by Gbagi, Christians in Delta State must pray and vote for Gbagi. Get your PVC and vote out the bad government. God has sent Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi to take over this state from wicked People, the time for the Righteous to rule has come, he said.

Gbagi appreciated all those who gathered in solidarity with him. He then noted that; "If this bad government did not show its misrule, Deltans would not value my coming into government.

"This bad government has borrowed money and they are insulting the men of God by trying to give them (5,000) five thousand Naira.

"I will take the arc of God into government house, I will immediately create a ministry of religious affairs after my swearing-in. In my private life, I have never borrowed one Kobo,

"As we speak today Delta state has borrowed 387 billion, they do not know how to pay back, they cannot pay it, because if this government knows what it is doing, they won't borrow.

"When you borrow money and you don't have the source to pay back, it becomes dangerous, During Governor James Ibori's administration, he constructed several roads, yet, companies did not leave Delta State", he said.
Chief Gbagi and his deputy Governorship Candidate, Chief Mrs Oshilim Rosemary were accompanied by members of SDP, The director, of Delta Central, Michael Dugbo, Delta State House of Assembly candidate, Ughelli South Constituency, Prince Temionor Oghenekevwe, SDP youth leader, Mr Matthew Luya, Director legal, Barr. Mrs Amaka, and host of others.
