Sheriff Mulade Calls for Support of less privileged as Rotary Club of Warri Installs 41st President



Niger Delta based Development and Human Right advocate, Rotarian (AMB) Comrade Sheriff Mulade has urged well meaning Deltans and  political leaders to emulate the humanitarian gestures of Rotary Club as they initiates projects to support humanity.

Mulade made the call in a press statement from Abuja yesterday as the Rotary Club of  Warri, District  9141, at the weekend installed Rotarian Bridget Ideji, as its new president.

 The event, which marked the handing over of the leadership of the club from Rtn. Happy Chuks Apai to Bridget Ideji also includes the unveiling of an ongoing Physiotherapy Centre project at the Central Hospital Warri, Delta State.


Sheriff Mulade in his press statement, urged members of the club to be committed to the ideals of Rotary to provide humanitarian services to less privileged persons in the society. 

The newly installed Rotary president, in her address said. "Rotarians will be innovative to bring positive changes and attract quality members, Rotary club of Warri will embarked on in-house training programmes to enable Rotarian acquire more Knowledge". 

The newly installed president urged all members to be visible in all Rotary activities and ensure that they contribute diligently to enable the club achieve Laurels.  

The secretary of the club, Rotarian Aghogho urged members to support the president to ensure the completion of its star project which includes the Physiotherapy Project for Central Hospital Warri.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
