By Fred Oghenesivbe

Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State, has unveiled the Portfolios of the first batch of Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council (SEC), as two Commissioners retained their ministries so as to build upon the achievements made during the first tenure of this administration.

A statement by Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chiedu Ebie Esq, said Barrister Peter Mrakpor and Chief James Augoye retained their first tenure Portfolios; Ministry of Justice and Works respectively, while former Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah, was drafted to Ministry of Basic Education.

Gov Okowa also assigned Prof Patrick Muoboghare, to Ministry of Higher Education, Mrs Flora Atlanta to Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development;  while Rt Hon Basil Ganagana got the Ministry of Energy.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry went to Hon Chika Ossai, while Chief Festus Ochonogor is to take charge at the Ministry of Housing.

It will be recalled that a popular online newspaper reported that it got hold of the master list of assigned portfolios wherein the Information Ministry was retained by Ukah, among other predictions that is at reasonable variance with the authentic assignment of portfolios released by the office of the SSG.

The Smart Governor also assigned portfolios to his first batch of Advisers that took Oath of office last Tuesday. Their names and assigned portfolios are as follows;

(i) Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo - Housing Development and  Urban Renewal

(ii) Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro - Rural and Community  Development

(iii) Hon. Efe Ofoburuku - Legislative Matters.

(iv) Dr. Kingsley Emu - Chief Economic Adviser.

(v) Prof. Sylvester Monye - Senior Policy Adviser.
