Police Invite Activist Adetoun For Allegedly Defaming Dapo Abiodun

The Ogun State Police Command has invited rights activist and social media commentator Adetoun Onajobi, widely known as JustAdetoun, over allegations of defamation involving the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

It was reported that the invitation was confirmed on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Boluwatife Babaseyi.

He said the police had reached out to Onajobi and were waiting for her to respond.

He also disclosed that her legal representative had already contacted the command and that the police would provide updates if there were any changes.

Onajobi, who is from Ogun State, recently shared several videos on her social media platforms where she spoke harshly about the governor.

The videos were linked to a road accident that occurred in December 2025 on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, involving Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua.

The accident claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close associates after their SUV crashed into a parked truck.

Following the incident, Onajobi accused the Ogun State government of failing to act, claiming that those involved were left unattended and later assisted by the Lagos State government.

She also claimed that the state lacked a working ambulance system and stated that, despite handling hundreds of emergency cases in Ogun, no ambulance had ever been provided.

In the videos, the activist went further to make personal accusations against Governor Abiodun, including claims related to his private life, misuse of public funds, and unlawful takeover of properties.

These statements reportedly led to the police invitation as part of an ongoing review of the matter.

The police said they are awaiting Onajobi’s appearance and will take further steps based on developments surrounding the case.
