Warri South West: Aggrieved PDP chairmanship aspirant, Bebenimibo writes Gov Oborewori, rejects imposition of candidate

An aggrieved chairmanship aspirant of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Meshach Bebenimibo has written an open letter to the governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborewori to revise the chairmanship candidate imposed on the Warri South West People.

The open letter which was sent to the newsmen rejected the imposition of the Chairmanship candidate of the party in Warri South West Local Government Area.

The letter read,

"An Open Letter to Our Amiable Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

"With deep pain I write to intimate you of the latest abnormality that brought Sylvester Oromoni as the PDP Flagbearer of Warri South West Local Government Council in the forthcoming Local Government Election.

"I, as a PDP member and  chairmanship candidate under the PDP as made a lot of expenses in my campaigns since late last year till this year with other aspirants, only to be shocked of the news that Sylvester Oromoni who didn't declare interest to contest even till the day he was announced as the flagbearer of our great party (PDP). I don't have a personal issue with Sylvester Oromoni but am not happy with the process that brought him as the flagbearer of our great party to represent Warri South West Local Government Council as Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming election. The process is faulty and comes short of modern democracy being practiced in the world.

"As a listening father, leader of  PDP in Delta State and Chief Executive Officer of Delta State. I want you to do something about this current development. All our expenses should be paid and equally grant us appointments.

"I have worked for PDP for many years without any means of compensation or reward. Most times I spent my funds to carry out campaigns for the past elections in the State.

"If there is no means of compensation, we will have no choice than to approach the Court to seek redress. I love PDP and I love your developmental strides. Within a year you have carried out projects across all Local Government Councils in Delta State. You mean well for us and we will always support you and follow PDP that always understands the plight of the populace.

"I also use this medium to appeal to PDP leadership in the State and Warri South West Local Government Excos to do the needful to avoid unnecessary Court process and division. We need each other now because we are hoping and working assiduously to return our workaholic, dogged and pragmatic icon, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the second tenure comes 2027 and the preparation starts now.

"I anticipate to hear from you soon, your Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor, Delta State.
I am Prince Meshach BEBENIMIBO, frontrunner of the Warri South West Local Government Chairmanship race".

The monarch, who stated this when he received the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, in his Palace in Warri Kingdom, Delta State, said that the two institutions were not necessarily antithetical. He also debunked the assumption that traditional institutions were synonymous with fetishism and the worship of creations made by human beings and reasoning. He, however, noted that the two institutions can play complementary role that will contribute to the growth and development of the country. The Olu, who said he was elated by the Soun’s visit, said the new Ogbomoso monarch’s choice of Warri kingdom as his first place of visit was divinely directed, just as his choice for the throne was divinely ordained.
