LG polls: Arex Akemotubo to Contest Warri South-West Chairmanship 



Pst. Arex Akemotubo, the MD/CEO of Waffi TV, announces his candidacy for the position of Warri South-West Local Government Area Chairmanship in the upcoming LG polls in Delta State. In his statement on Saturday dropped on his verified Facebook account, Akemotubo, a prominent political figure from Ogbe-ijoh Warri Kingdom, boasted his extensive political experience and loyalty to the party's values. Having held various positions, Akemotubo vowed to continue Governor Sheriff-led government's M.O.R.E Agenda, with a focus on Mobilization, Opportunity, Reconstruction, and Empowerment. 

Akemotubo urged party members to unite and support his candidacy, emphasizing the values of integrity, accountability, and service to the people. 
The statement reads in full:
''To the very wonderful and committed Members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Warri South-West Local Government Area,

I am Pst. Arex Akemotubo, from Ogbe-ijoh Warri Kingdom, I play my politics in Warri South-West Local Government Area. It is with great honor and humility that I come before you today, as a dedicated party member who has served in various capacities within our  party.

Having previously held the positions of Secretary and Treasurer of our Party in the LGA, as well as serving as a Transition Committee member in the LGA, former Special Assistant, and Senior Special Assistant to the immediate past governor of Delta State, H.E. Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, I have been privileged to witness firsthand the transformative impact of governance on our LGA

Today, as I humbly declare my intention to contest for the position of Chairman of the Warri South-West Local Government Area, I bring with me a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep-rooted commitment to the ideals of our great party, the PDP.

I am driven by a sincere desire to build upon the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Governor Sheriff-led government, focusing on Mobilization, Opportunity, Reconstruction, and Empowerment for the benefit of all residents of our local government area. Through inclusive governance, strategic planning, and transparent leadership, I aim to work tirelessly towards creating a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future for Warri South-West.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
