Ozobo doles out 50 forms for Burutu Youths On NDA, Navy Special Enlistment, Fire Service Recruitment 

Renowned Niger Delta rights activist and a frontline chairmanship aspirant of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has disclosed that he will be sponsoring 50 free forms for NDA, Navy Special Enlistment and fire service recruitment for Burutu LGA youths.

Giving a breakdown, he said Nigeria Defence Academic, NDA, registration forms are 10,  Burutu South 5 and North 5. He further emphasised that Navy short service forms are 20 Altogether, Burutu South 10 and North 10 as well.

Ozobo further maintained that the Fire service forms are 20, 10 for Burutu South and 10 for the North, adding that only eligible and qualified youths with the basic requirements should apply.

He gave requirements of the NDA registration as follows; the NDA 76RC starts on Monday, 23rd October 2023 and ends on Tuesday, 19th March 2024. All the applicants should log in to the NDA 76RC application portal https://ndaapplications.net/, and select “Purchase Form” to pay for their application via REMITA in the sum of N3,500.00 only. Please note that only payment against RRR Codes generated via the application portal will be accessed.
The application forms must be submitted together with the scanned SSCE results online.
On the submission of the online application, applicants are to download an Acknowledgement Form.

"Only the applicants who Possess the minimum admission requirements would be considered for the Screening Test. Your WAEC, NECO and other relevant certificates.
The UTME score for Engineering is 210 points. For those of Arts & Social Sciences and Science is 180 points. All applicants are expected to also apply for the 2024 Joint Admissions And Matriculation Examination (JAMB), and choose NDA as their first choice of institution. Applicants are expected to also sit for the JAMB UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME).
You will be required to provide your personal information, including your name, date of birth, passport photo, BVN, NIN, and email address. You will also need to provide your academic information.

"Once you have submitted your application, you will need to wait until the Nigerian Defence Academy shortlists the successful candidates for the 76 Regular Course. If you are accepted, you will be invited to attend an interview with the Academy’s selection board. All the candidates who apply for the NDA 76Rc are also advised to get the NDA Past Questions And Answers PDF from our website or you can also visit the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna to get the hard copy", he added.

While requirements for Navy short service registration are;
"•Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
•Applicants are warned against giving false information or tendering fake certificates. Any false information or fake certificates discovered at any stage will lead to disqualification and subsequent prosecution of the applicant.

"•Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of First degree and Upper Credit for HND holders. Computer literacy will be an added advantage in all fields.
•Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
•Applicants who obtained credentials from foreign institutions should ensure the certificates are authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Education and copies of all certificates are to be submitted at chosen aptitude test centres.

"•All applicants must present an O'level West African Examination Certificate (WAEC), in addition to any other results such as NECO. •Credit in Mathematics and English is compulsory.
• An NYSC discharge certificate or letter of exemption from NYSC is a compulsory requirement for enlistment.
•Male applicants must not be less than 1.68 meters tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.65 meters tall. Passport photograph.

"•Applicants should be between 22 and 28 years of age by 25 March 2024. Except Medical Officers who should not be more than 30 years.
•Serving personnel, Soldiers/Rating/Airmen, and other paramilitary services personnel must obtain a letter of attestation duly signed by the heads of their units.
•Applicants will be shortlisted for a qualifying aptitude test. The date and time of the aptitude test will be communicated via the Nigerian Navy website: www.joinnigeriannavy.com

"•Applicants are to appear for the Aptitude Test with the following:
Photocopies of Degree and NYSC Discharge Certificate.
Parent / Guardian Consent Form.
Acknowledgement Form.
Photocopies of foreign certificates (if any).
•You will be required to provide your personal information, including your name, date of birth, passport photo, BVN, NIN, email address and local government origin. You will also need to provide your academic information.
•On completion of the application form, applicants are advised to click "SUBMIT" on the portal to generate the applicant's Transaction ID. Applicants are thereafter advised to print out a copy of the "Application Summary".

He further gave information, requirements and available positions for the fire service recruitment registration;

"Inspector of Fire (IF): 

Registered nurses, midwives, or nurse-midwives are needed. (Nursing skills to the rescue!)

"Assistant Inspector of Fire (AIF):

NCE or National Diploma in any related field is a must. (Knowledge is power!)

"Fire Assistant II (FA II): 

GCE Ordinary level with five credits, including English and Math, is your ticket in. (Sharp minds, sharp skills!)

"Fire Assistant III (FAIII) & Appliance Driver (Specialist): 

Similar to FA II, a driver’s license is a bonus. (Get ready to steer and extinguish!)
 
"Requirements

Be a Nigerian citizen.
Possess the required qualifications. (No shortcuts!)
Be fit and healthy, with a doctor’s approval.
Have a clean criminal record and good character.
Avoid secret societies, cults, and drugs.
Be between 18 and 35 years old.
Stand tall at 1.65m (men) or 1.60m (women).
Have a strong chest (men only!).
Bonus points for computer skills".

According to him, the registration would be done in Warri by Olivebyte computer centre, beside Oasis Hotel, at Okumagba Estate junction,  beginning on Monday 15th January 2024.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
