Oborevwori still committed to be governor for all - Ahon

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori is still committed to be a governor for all Deltans, says Sir Festus Ahon, Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor.

Ahon who stated this during a Radio programme in Kpoko FM, Warri, monitored by our Correspondent, thanked the people of the State for their support during the elections and legal battles.

He assured that the Oborewori's administration would not take the support of the people for granted, noting that "the governor is fine and he is fast settling in for the business of governance, haven won 38 legal battles. Like he said in his M.O.R.E agenda, he is ready more than ever before to deliver the dividends of democracy to all Deltans.

"This is a government for every class of persons, nobody will be sidelined in this government. As you can see, projects are being executed across the state, in all senatorial districts, Local Government Areas and communities.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
