IYC Spokesman Binebai Princewill Appreciate Leaders, Delegates, Supporters On His Victory

Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Amb.  Binebai Yerin Princewill has appreciated leaders, delegates, supporters and his friends on his victory in the just concluded IYC national election.

Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill issued the appreciation message to newsmen in Warri yesterday after returning from Central Zone. 

In the appreciation message he personally signed, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide, Princewill had particularly noted that the appreciation message will be incomplete without mentioning names of people that massively supported him morally and financially. 

"I want to specially appreciate Chief Promise Lawuru, the one and only Ozigizaga of the universe, my leader and elder brother, High Chief Kestin Pondi, MD Tantita Security Services, my mentor and leader, Rt.  Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, Barr. Pereotubo Roland Oweilaemi, former President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Godfrey Pondi, GM Tantita Security Services, leader Amb. "I want to use this medium to commend my team members for working hard in ensuring my victory and I call it our victory because a single tree cannot make a forest. The sleepless nights, the social media campaigns, calls, concerns and what have you, you guys are the best. I also thank the Eleco members for conducting the most peaceful and free election in the history of council. 

"It is my promise this day that I will join our one and only President of Council, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri and other members of the 9th NEC to build a united Council that will speak in one voice against the multifaceted challenges bedeviling us as a people. 

"I am aware that the expectations are high and as such, much is expected from the 9th NEC of Council and the assurance is that we will do all within our powers to negotiate a better deal for our people, never again shall the Ijaws be relegated to the lowest background, we shall rise and speak against all forms of injustice metted out on our people. 

"In unity we shall stand as 9th NEC members. We will do that which we are elected to do"

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship. The aggrieved retired police officers also wrote a Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, calling for an urgent intervention.
