DELTA GUBER: Tribunal Admits 4,978 Material Evidence Against Oborevwori, Others as Gbagi Closes Case

The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the State capital has admitted in evidence a total of 4,978 documents tendered by Olorogun Barr. Kenneth FNIM, OON, the flag bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in proof of his petition against the declaration of Sheriff Oborevwori as winner of the March 18th 2023 gubernatorial election.

The documents, aimed at establishing allegations of forgery, multiple change of names with sworn affidavit and non qualification, included Oborevwori's
falsified statutory declaration of age/Affidavit in support of personal particulars as contained in Form C.F. 001.

Affidavit in support of personal particulars of persons seeking election to the office/membership of State House of Assembly dated 24th October 2018 and form EC9. 

Affidavit in support of personal particulars, dated 30th Day of June 2022 through the 2nd Respondent (PDP) to the 1st Respondent (INEC).

The documents tendered by the petitioner include 4,634 forms of EC8A across 20 out of the 25 councils, 322 forms of EC8B in the same number of councils, 20 forms of EC8C, and one form each of EC8D and EC8E.

Other documents are two BVAS reports with accompanying receipts and certificates of compliance as well as one flash drive accompanied by the certificate of compliance.

The documents which were admitted in evidence by the court were tendered through Magaji Mato Ibrahim, SAN, counsel to the petitioner at the resumed hearing of his petition.

The three-man panel tribunal admitted the documents and marked them as exhibits despite opposition by respective counsel to the 1st to 13th respondents who, however, reserved their grounds of objection to final written addresses.

Gbagi is challenging the conduct of the March 18, 2023 governorship election as well as the subsequent declaration of Oborevwori of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He is equally seeking the the disqualification of Oborevwori, his counterparts in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, Labour Party (LP), Kennedy Pela and their Deputies.

Breaking: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its two-week warning strike it declared last week across all public universities in the country. The union announced the suspension on Wednesday at a press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja. Woman Burned to Death, Accused of Kidnapping 7yrs Old Boy in Delta
