FocalPoint Reports on Tuesday In Warri, Delta State garthered that, thousands of food items ranging from bags of rice, beans and garri were given to Ubeji, Egbokodo, Ifie kporo, Aja-Etan, Ijala-Ikeren, Sapele Itsekiri Community and Ajimele Communities.
Each of these communities received five bags of rice, five bags of beans and five bags of garri.
The presentation of the palliative to the beneficiary communities which was done by the Vice President of Ugbajo-Itsekiri USA, Mrs. Rebecca Isa Begho, Mr. Eyisan Omagbemi, Patron of the group and some notable Itsekiri Chiefs was held at the Palace of the Olu of Warri on Monday May 11, 2020.
Addressing the representatives of the beneficiary communities during the presentation, Mrs. Rebecca Isa Begho admonished them to ensure that the palliative get to the vulnerable in their various communities which they represent.
She thanked the Olu of Warri for his constant prayers and approval of the use of the Palace, and the Council of Chiefs for their time and support.
Mrs. Isa Begho appealed to the people to strictly adhere to the directives put in place by the government and World Health Organisation such as regular washing of hands with soap and running water, or alcohol base sanitizer, use of nose mask, social distancing as well as personal hygiene at all time in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Responding, the representatives of the beneficiary communities thanked Ugbajo-Itsekiri USA for their timely contribution even in the face of the global economy breakdown, and promised to distribute the palliative to the people that really needs it in their communities.
