More trouble as lands around Ogbe-Ijoh Market, waterside, Main Market sold illegally.

Ogbe-Ijaw governing council  has Dragged the Meinbutus group, under the auspices of a self styled Olabrakonpere community members before the police at the Warri Area Command.

The chairman of the so claimed Olabrakonpere community, Mr. Trust Youde recently disclosed to our reporter in Warri that the rift between them and Ogbe-Ijoh is not resolved.

Investigation by FocalPoint Reports gathered that the struggle for ownership of the lands around the the Ogbe-Ijoh Market, waterside and the Warri Maintain Market has resonated to confrontation between some Ogbe-Ijoh people who serve as governing council and the Meinbutu's group.

The Ogbe-Ijoh governing council insist that Meinbutu's are not legal occupants or owners of any land around the Ogbe-Ijoh market and Waterside, they are temporary claimers.

The immediate past chairman of the self styled Olabrakonpere community Ogbe-Ijoh, Mr. Penakeme Emeze revealed that the lands around Ogbe-Ijoh Mark was initially occupied by the Itsekiri people before the Warri crisis.

He said "During the Warri crisis the Itsekiri Captured the lands around the Ogbe-Ijoh market before they were chased out by the Meinbutu's who presently occupy the land".

"Suddenly, the Ogbe-Ijoh people are calling us claimers. The current  pere (King) (Name withheld ) is trying to claim that he knows it all but we will tell him that he is a Chief that has been suffering for donkey years before we support him to become a King".

However the Chairman, Ogbe-Ijoh governing council, Comrade Humphrey Kenge in his reaction said that "The Meinbutu or Olabrakonpere have no lands in Ogbe-Ijoh, they are temporarily enjoying the benevolence of the Ogbe-Ijoh people, adding that the matter is before the police though prominent Ijaw leaders are intervening to resolve the issue but there is no conclusion yet".
