Delta 2023: Transporters get free fuel as Gbagi campaign train storms Issele-Ukwu, Aniocha North

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi on Tuesday January 10, 2023 provided free petrol to commercial motorcycle and tricycle riders better known as Okada and Keke riders in Issele Ukwu, Delta State.

The supply of free fuel was launched at a petrol station in Issele Ukwu with riders forming long queues to benefit from the gesture. Many of the beneficiaries decorated their bikes with the posters of Gbagi expressing joy.

The fuel station was besieged by the riders as soon as the news spread that free fuel was being supplied.

Retired police officers protest over unpaid pensions

Some retired police officers under the contributory pension scheme on Tuesday, May 21, protested at the National Assembly over alleged several months of unpaid pensions with a call on President Bola Tinubu to remove them from the scheme. The protesters decried the extreme challenges they endure, saying that the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) has failed to pay their entitlements for several months causing them and their families untold hardship.
