Petroleum marketers have raised the alarm that the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, may exceed ₦1,000 per litre following President Bola Tinubu's approval of a 15 percent ad valorem import tariff on fuel imports. It was reported that the new policy, contained in a presidential directive dated October 21, 2025, takes effect after a 30-day transition period that will end on November 21, 2025.
