NANS New Executives Pay Courtesy Visit to Federal Minister of Youths
In an effort to strengthen the relationship between the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Federal Ministry of Youths, the newly inaugurated executives of NANS, led by Comrade Lucky Efe, paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Minister of State for Youths, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, at the ministry's headquarters in Abuja.
During the visit on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Comrade Lucky Efe, President-Elect of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), expressed the association's commitment to collaborating with the ministry to address the various challenges facing Nigerian students.
He emphasized the need for constructive engagement between NANS and the government to foster youth development, improve educational standards, and create more opportunities for young people in the country.
The newly elected leadership of NANS, extended gratitude to the Honourable Minister for his supportive role during the recently concluded NANS election at the 2023 NANS Convention in Abuja, saying the Minister's dedication to ensuring a free and fair election was greatly appreciated by the NANS leadership.
The newly-elected NANS leadership emphasized the importance of prioritizing student welfare within the minister's agenda. It expressed that students are crucial stakeholders in the country and that addressing their needs and concerns was integral to solving many societal challenges.
The President (Elect.), Comrade Luck, eloquently stressed that by effectively catering to the interests of students, a significant portion of the country's issues can be mitigated, underscoring the pivotal role that students play in advancing the nation's prosperity and stability.
In his response, the Federal Minister of State for Youths, Comrade Oladele Olawande, welcomed the NANS executives and commended their initiative in reaching out to the ministry.
He assured them of the government's readiness to work closely with NANS and other youth organizations to implement policies that would enhance the welfare and prospects of Nigerian students and youths.
