Odidi Field, OML 42: Kusimi lacks justification to seek recognition as Host Community...Ex-Agitators

The attention of the leadership of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, Odidi Federated Community has been drawn to an online publication made by one Mr Smart Kusimi in an online medium on the 11th of January 2022
seeking recognition of Kusimi as Host community in Odidi Field, OML 42

Ordinarily, we are not interested in joining issues with anybody on media but it is imperative to straighten  and educate the general public that might be carried away with their request without understanding the circumstances surrounding Kusimi agitations in Odidi Field and also caution NPDC/NECONDE JV to avoid triggering communal crisis because of certain violence attitudes of few individuals who might be using it as yardstick to gain recognition in Odidi Field.

*Kusimi does NOT have right to seek for recognition as Host Community in Odidi Field as regards operational land acquisition or by virtue of signing any Oil and Gas installations in the area*

*Oil and Gas operations in the field is over six decades and Kusimi is NOT known as Host Community while request it now?*

*Again Kusimi has over six court cases with Odidi and Kantu Communities, Hosts of NPDC and Neconde*
*For clarity, the following are the cases.*

*1. Magistrate Court Warri - MW/161C/2019 - Commissioner of Police VS Newman Kusimi.*
*2. Federal High Court Warri - FHC/WR/CS/36/2017 - Newman Kusimi & 2ORS VS NPDC & 8ORS*
*3. Court of Appeal, Asaba - CA/AS/158/2020 - W289/2020 - Ch. Dr. S. Y. Mamamu & 3ORS VS Newman Kusimi & 5ORS*
*4. Supreme Court - SC/CA/B/363/2016 - ch. Col. Satchie Etoromi & ORS VS Newman Kusimi & 7ORS,*
*5. Supreme Court - SC/691/2016 - Newman Kusimi and Samson Youkore Mamamu Jp & 2ORS*
*Having clarified the cases Kusimi has with Odidi, Kantu and NPDC,we advised them to continue their legal battle till the exhaustion of all legal proceedings and as such the Kusimi issues as a legal underpinning therefore their request CANNOT be granted*

*We are also warning those parading themselves as leaders of Kusimi to be cautioned as NO SINGLE INDIVIDUAL or Group of persons has monopoly of violence and NPDC/Neconde  JV should thread carefully and act accordingly with the laid down principles as regard Kusimi issues*

*we will NOT Tolerate any act(s) that is capable of inciting violence or giving regards to undeserving person(s) because of trend of violence arising from that axis and any person or group that wants to cause crisis will be arrested and dealt with according to the laws.*
